NZ’s experts in steel framing

The Green Frame story

With everyday Kiwis suffering from the severe housing crisis and unsustainable amounts of construction waste heading to landfills, innovative solutions were required to take New Zealand forward.

For Green Frame's founders, Dave Macfarlane and Sam Wulfe, steel framing was the obvious choice. Both men had spent their entire working careers in New Zealand’s construction sector and could instantly see the many benefits steel framing would bring to the market.

Superior to wood in practically every way, in countries such as Australia and Canada it was already the matierial of choice for urban housing developments.

From their factory in Putararu, the Green Frame team is committed to supplying the highest-quality LGS products and support to make switching to steel an easy choice for New Zealand's builders.

Green Frame steel eliminates onsite waste, is 100% recyclable, and requires no toxic coatings or treatments.

Every year, New Zealand generates more than 17 million tonnes of waste. It's estimated only 28% of all material is recycled and the rest becomes landfill. The vast majority of this waste comes from the construction sector, pressing the need to switch to more sustainable options.

Green Frame LGS framing offers the perfect solution. It's stronger and more durable than wood and 100% recyclable. It generates savings in other areas, too. With every component manufactured to millimetre precision, on-site modifications are not required, eliminating on-site framing waste.

Manufactured in New Zealand, our steel is galvanised by New Zealand Steel during the manufacturing process and requires no further preservative chemical treatment. Being roll-formed to length, there is minimal waste, with any off-cuts being recycled.
